Simple way to make your kitchen look new!

With new handles, knobs and paint, your kitchen can easily feel like new! Use what you have instead of buying new. Remodeling the kitchen on your own is both more fun & cheaper - also much better for the environment.

Replacing the details and repainting will also help you get that unique touch to your home - that only you can create!

- STEP BY STEP -
1. Open a cabinet or kitchen drawer and measure the distance between the centers of both screw holes using a tape measure or ruler. The measurement you are looking for is the one from the center of one screw to the center of the other screw. This measurement is called the "C/C measurement" and is always written in millimeters. The most common C/C dimensions are 64mm, 96mm, 128mm and 160mm. At Beslag Online you will find a wide range of handles with different C/C measurements, so you are guaranteed to find a new favorite handle for your kitchen project!
2.  Once you know your C/C measurements, you can start the search for your new favorite handles and knobs. You can easily filter on our product pages to find a handle that is available in the size you need.
After you have found and ordered your new handles & knobs, step 2 is to repaint the doors. The color experts at Happy Homes advise on how to proceed to get the best results.
The first thing you need to do is decide if you want to repaint just the doors or the entire frame and doors. In most cases, the shutters cover the frame, so it doesn't matter if you leave it white and paint the shutters grey. To get the best possible results, remove the kitchen doors to make sure that you really get everywhere and that you get an even paint. If it's too clever, you can of course leave the hatches in place, it will be a little trickier, but with a smaller brush and masking tape, it can be done just as well.
    • Start by removing all handles and knobs from all doors and drawers.

  • Then wash off the doors, and the frame if it is to be painted. Do this using paint wash to make sure they get clean of the dirt and grease that settles easily from food. Make sure to wash them thoroughly so that the paint adheres well and lasts properly.

  • For the new color to adhere properly, rough up the surface using a fine-grained sandpaper.

  • After you have roughened the hatches, paint a layer of adhesive primer. This is to ensure that the paint adheres properly.

  • When the adhesive primer has dried, paint at least 2 layers with your chosen colour. Check out Lycke Snickeri- and lacquer paint and choose sheet 40 durable colors. Start to paint edges and difficult areas, do this using a lacquer paint brush. Once you've covered the difficult areas, you can either use a roller or brush and paint your hatches. Make sure you choose paint tools that are suitable for paint color.

  • A tip is that you can first roll your hair and then lightly draw over a layer with a wide brush to create brushstrokes if you think it could be a beautiful detail.
3. Once the shutters have dried and been fitted, it's time to put on your new handles and knobs. Be sure to use a screwdriver with the correct screw head when installing the handles. With handles and knobs, M4 screws are included with your delivery. They have a combi slot as screw head, so it is fine to use both a Phillips screwdriver and a straight screwdriver. We recommend that you screw the handles into place with a screwdriver in order not to damage the threads.
4. ENJOY YOUR NEW KITCHEN!
