What Height Should a Shower Shelf be Installed?
The right height for your shower shelf affects both ease of use and the overall look of your bathroom. There are no fixed standard measurements – the position depends on who will be using the shelf and what products will be placed on it.
Stand in the shower and consider at what height you can comfortably reach your shampoo and other products without stretching. If several family members share the same shower, it is a good idea to mount two shower shelves one above the other – one at a comfortable height for adults and one lower for children. Make sure there is enough space between them to accommodate standard-sized shampoo bottles.

Easy Installation of Our Self-Adhesive Shelves
Prefer not to drill into your tiles? Our shower shelves and bathroom shelves are self-adhesive with 3M tape on the back and adhere easily to any smooth, stable surface. Take a look at our guide to installation with 3M tape for further tips and advice. Follow the steps below for a simple and smooth installation:
- Choose a smooth surface and determine the position for the product. We do not recommend mounting the product over grout lines or uneven surfaces.
- Clean the surface thoroughly with a 3M Surface Cleaning Wipe.
- Remove the protective film from the tape.
- Apply the product by pressing it firmly against the surface for 10 seconds.
- For optimal adhesion, allow the adhesive to cure for 24 hours before placing items on the shelf.
- After 24 hours, the shelf is ready to use.
